We scarfed up .30/06 Match ammo back in the day because it shot better than Ball ammo, the brass was easier to reload than Ball ammo empties (no primer crimp to deal with)and was cheaper than factory ammo. I couldn't tell you if the cases were subjected to more stringent quality control or not. I shot so much of it 25-40 years ago that I'm still using the empties. Haven't bought a commercial virgin .30/06 case ever.

Everything gnoahhh said.

Match brass was made in both the .308 and .30-06.

I think the .308 is 7.62x51 and the .30-06 is 7.62x63 (or 62. I can't remember).

I use it in .30 Gibbs and regular .30/06.
It works well for me.

No......

There is no military primer crimp.

The pockets are similar to commercial brass.

I use the .308 version in my FN PBR XP .308 rifle and it works great. I have 50 pieces of 62 LC Matc brass in .30-06 and it shoots very well, I've been shooting it for 8 years.
