MEOPTA!!! Recently purchased a pair of 8x32 meoptas from Euro optics. I have never experienced the "WOW" facter until now! At 20 ounces, what an incredable bino! My only complaint is the objective lens covers, but for the price I will live with them.

A "sleeper" in the world of bins IMO. I got a full size pair for Christmas last year and was very impressed at the quality and sharpness of 'em. Not quite up there with my EL's but I really like them for half the money of my Swaros.

I was quite impressed with the view through some Cabelas Euros which I am told are similar to the Meostars. That glass is right up there with the best for 1/4 the price if a guy shops smart. This coming from a guy that used to have Ultravids.

The Cabelas Euros aren't similar to Meostars, they are Meostars.

Czech engineering and workmanship can be every bit as accomplished as that of its German and Austrian neighbors. Meopta scopes and binos are a terrific bargain. I used to sell them along with Swaros (which I own), Kahles (which I also own), Leica, Zeiss, etc. I've looked extensively through all of the above.

Buddy of mine is an ISSO/QC type who works in the instrumentation field;also a shooter. He got to tour the Meopta plant....came back and said they make very fine products.

I've peered through them and was quite impressed as well. They certainly have the "built-like-a-tank" quality feel to them and pretty sweet ergo's. They didn't do anything for me that the SLC or, say, the 8x32 Trinovid doesn't do, but for the view and for the cheddar, it's hard to not like them. Of course much depends on who's doing the peeping and what works for them.

8x42 meostars compare in everyway with the highest end stuff for a grand to 1500 less and built like a tank

Yep, I have a pair of the 7x42 Meopta binox. They are first rate. The only thing I could find that is better with the Swaro SLC's w/Swarobrite in 7x42 is the color rendition, and not by much.

Do the Meopta's have the diopter adjustment 'built-in' to the focus wheel similar to the Swaro SLC? The 'built-in' and lockable diopter adjustment on the Swaro's is something I really do like.
