I looked at a Rem. Ti rifle today and really liked the stock. The guys at the shop said they thought it was a Bell and Carlson stock. It was rather slim in the fore end and the wrist and felt like it had a sort of rubbery coating. It also had a smallish cheek piece. It was black with a gray spider web. Can these stocks be purchased to put on an existing rifle and are they actually made by B&C.

If it truly had the "rubbery" coating that it probably was "MaxGard" finish. That was not on the factory Ti that I know of.

I believe the alaskan ti has the maxguard coating not the original ti. Yup - I have an Alaskan Ti with the Maxguard, thought at first it was dumb but on cold rainy days like we get here in Oregon for late blacktail season its actually kind of nice. But this was not on 1st gen Ti like you said.

Alaskan Ti has the MaxGuard finish. Here's mine in .280 Rem. Like Oregonmuley said, it is excelent in the bad weather. I just ordered an Alaskan II for a .338-06 build I have in process.
