I have 7 points now. What unit should I put in for? I would hate to waste them you know. I see that units 85 and 851 require the most points to draw here in Colorado.

About every where in Colorado will have a huge bear problem.
27 Bear, human conflicts in Aspen last summer alone.
Another mild winter with every bear fat and happy
camping in their dens.
Looks like they are going to have a good food crop this
year too.
It will be interesting to watch.
google: bear problems in Colorado.
I will be hunting the dudes in unit 60, in the Manti La
Sals N.F.

Charlie,
since I have have 7 points as of this draw I really want to put in for the best area
available. I would hate to waste the points. I see the highest point areas are along the Colorado New Mexico boarder. Does the number of points needed to draw really translate into them being the best areas?

We have always seen a lot of bears south of Trinidad area, but most we see are between Medano Pass and Music Pass, along north Muddy Creek

Tom,
Go to MonsterMuleys.com and look up Draw Odds.
If things go as I think they will. You should
Draw a Bear, 2nd choice next year.
Wouldn't surprise me if there were left over tags in the
Aspen area, lots of public accesses and you can probably,
piss off a treehugger no problem. I think 95% of the people
in the area know that, there is a problem and realize,
Management by hunting is a pretty good option.
The other 5% is from ca.
Could be a lot of left over bear licenses in a lot of areas
as the CDOW increased licenses dramatically on the
Western Slope. After the applications, 250 additional
licenses for the Aspen area etc.
