Got rid of it on my 85 Finnlight and wow is it ever nice now. Pretty simple fix if anyone want to rid it of that child proofing. A simple file and work the ridge off the mag latch and it now functions great and only need one push on the latch. Thanks Rembo!!
Cheers!!

What's wrong with it. It was no big deal to operate one handed anyway.

In my opinion it was over kill and prefer being able to drop the mag like 99% of my other rifles. Now I just push my latch and out it pops vs getting the right pressure on my mag while pressing down on the latch. If you like it the factory way,,,,cool

Never had a problem with operating mine...personally I like the extra security that it would come out.

Rob, me too. Especially knowing how much the mags cost.

I have been hunting for almost 20 years and have yet to have a mag pop out and loose it. I have left them laying around and have missed them for a while but never had one pop out.

I haven't either and I have been hunting just as long with detach mags, but I dont want the first time to be when I am out hunting. I just have no issues with the way the functions and can remove it with one hand easy. Personal preference I guess.

Thanks for sharing the info as it gives an option.
I like the current Sako latch system and find it to be a plus and not a negative on a hard use hunting rifle.
Best:)
