Hello everybody. First post here. I'm interested in buying either a Remington Model 547 or a Cooper Classic. Anybody know if a store in Ohio stocks either one of them? Also, what would be a fair price for either; both new and used in excellent condition? Thanks for any input.

Cooper has a dealer locater on their website.
Price for a Cooper classic will range from 1000 to 1400 all depending on wood and any upgrades.
Prices on the 547 range from 1000 to 1100ish new, I've only seen one used for sale and it was cheap, around 750.

If you want the 547 in 17 caliber, Hendershots has it on sale for under $1,000. Seems that it's harder to find a deal on the 547 in 22 caliber. I considered the 547, but chose the Cooper JSR instead. It's more money, but it fit me better. Good luck!

I'm quite fond of my Remington 547. I ordered mine from a local gunshop that is one of the Remington premium dealers. That my not be the proper name, but only certain dealers can order them as I understand it.

I would love to own a Cooper. I'm just not there yet. An Anshutz is the more likely choice for the Cooper price range these days for me. The Coopers shoot good however based on what I read.
