270guy , The Deer herd looked kinda thin in Lincoln last fall too . I can't remember a longer run of poor hunting weather during the season like we had last year . They had their winter coats on , there was a bumper mast crop , and they were hanging tighter than bark to a tree . I know what you mean about the Coyotes , my motto is kill a coyote save a fawn . My son and I were able to subtract 17 of them from the pack last winter , 11 of them females . We Deer hunters just need to bundle up and go kill them . Is Winchester still making 860 or was it replaced by Supreme ? It's good to find another Yankee on here !
Don't forget to have your Liberals spayed or neutered !

Oldsap, Winchester is still marketing 760, but not 785 or WMR which were both considerably slower burning than 760. They have been replaced by a newer Winchester powder (Supreme 780). I have tried it in the 270 with good velocity and accuracy. I haven't tried it in the 243 yet, but it should be good with heavy bullets. Good hunting. 270 guy

45.5g of R#19 with a Winchester primer with an 85g Tripple shock(.050 off lands) is 3300+ in my Rem 700, with 1/2" three shot groups. I've only killed a squirrel with this load, not fur friendly...complete penetration...Work up to that load in your rifle.
I have been playing around with HV100 and R#17 with the 80g, both are very fast with accuracy, notes are at the range...can't remember exact numbers. I do remember that both powders demanded Winchester large rifle primers to get the bullets in the >.400 group range.
