I didn't even know they had came out with a new set. My wife might really hate you for telling me this. lol! Now I gotta go "test" a pair out and maybe keep them if I like them. just hope they don't cost a lot.
I really liked the old ones. Too bad their customer service was or is horrible.

I do not know what year they actually revamped the Docter 15x60 but it was in a post on the internet about the newer, lighter model so I think it was in the last few years.

Be careful boys, Docter Optic has NO customer service in the US... Everything goes back to Germany - and comes back after the hefty invoice is paid. It took almost a year for one of my buddy to get his 15x's back when he sent them to the PMC the Docter importer at the time. BUYER BEWARE!!!

That is very very true and their customer service is horrible too!
But they did make some decent glass. Maybe the new generation if I can find a set will be good too. Hard to say, but man I am affraid to break them. It took my buddy over a year and multi phone calls to get his back.

Good looking out Ovis

guys, I have a Docter optics rifle scope and I had some issues with it. The guys who import Merkel are now their customer service reps, I send the scope in and had a brand new replacement within 3 weeks, no questions asked. I thought their customer service worked out well.

I received good service, acceptable turn-around time and fair pricing on work done to my Docter 15X60's from this outfit:

I believe that Docter revamped the 15X60 in approx. 2007/08 and that they are considerably better.
