Great pics Chris. Looks like he knows what he's doing. Those steady rests look very familiar. Knowing your smith, I wonder how many kittens he had when that octamill dug a hole in those hardened vise jaws. I've got a special mark on my Kurt vise jaws as well. I use it as a quick reminder of which side my jaws go on.

Which McM stock did you start with for the Mauser and who did the machining and finish work? Do you have pics of the finished job? I have a G33/40 that needs a handle.

The stock is a flat-top "Sako Classic" with molded in green (it will be painted by McMillan when the bedding and sanding are all done.) Stuart Satterlee did the inlet on the stock. www.SatterleeArms.com
