Bought an M1A in Feb. Its the standard model with Walnut stock. Hey If I turn the screw for the grenade launcher to block off the gas flow can i turn my rifle into a single shot with no damage to the gun? Im thinkin of saving the brass easier? wonder if this will foul the gas hole. Finally got a one inch group but hasent been easy. Also put a buffer on it to save the slam. Lets hear from the M1A shooters thanks

I've only seen one round fired that way. It was very difficult to extract the case.

You can do it, but I don't know why, the gun isn't hard on brass anyway, assuming a decent chamber and you are sizing for that chamber.

Kcoyboy, Try clipping a coil off the ejector spring. Go one coil at a time until the brass lands where you can find it. If you clip to much you will need a new spring so buy an extra one first! whelennut
