My .357 sig is spost to be more powerfull than a 45 auto, but I never hear of someone hunting with them.Id like to shoot a hog with it.Im useing 124 gr.hp-xtp bullets,blue dot at 1350 fps.that shud do the job.

Not me, but I imagine it would be fine for close up medium sized deer using the heaviest bullets they make for it. It's not comparable to the .357 Magnum, though, because big game hunting bullet weight for those start at 158 grain and move up from there. The Sig won't handle the heavier bullet weights.

PS Besides, it would "way over penetrate." grin

Haven't yet, but will. Got a 32 barrel in my G23, but thinking HARD about putting an Aimpoint T1 on my G35 and putting a 6-in. .357 bbl in it. Believe if you can place that 124 GD through a deer's pump, he should pass pretty quickly.

The 357 SIG is mostly used for hunting criminals. It has a good record there.

More powerful? As defined by who?

The inability of the cartridge to launch heavy bullets as mentioned above, limits its usefulness in the game fields -- obviously depending on what you are hunting. Even a .357 mag would be a better choice because of the bullet limitations. JMHO.
