and you called me an ass if I didn't get to the doctor

Dave, when you get over the dog bite fever you can tell us which is the baddest, the dog bite or the baboon ass. Seems like the baboon ass does last forever..

Many moons ago I worked at an animal hospital. There was a huge BD that used to be boarded in the kennel for a couple weeks a year, and when we saw it come it there'd be a collective groan. Without fail, every single time the kennel door was opened, that crazy SOB would run down the rows biting at the cages of every single other dog. By the time he was grabbed up again, the entire place was like the scene of a doggy riot, with maybe a hundred dogs sounding off wanting to play the doggy version of the Terminator.

ND, you are exactly right about the facial structure of a BD being challenging to manhandle. I learned to grab the fleshy folds of the face instead with breeds like that. Grab hard on the skin of their mugs and twist, and you can get your way. Glad to hear you were able to finish off yer brew, and didn't lose any digits doing it. wink

Believe it or not, this works. If you unavoidably find your hand in an angry dogs mouth, grab the tongue if you can - hard. They can't bite then. Bulldogs usually have big floppy ones that work well for this.

I love that scene!

About the infection thing Dave, our dog was bitten near her eye when she was about a half grown pup. Within a day or so, it swelled up to where it looked like half a walnut was stuck under her skin. A little push on it while checking the wound yielded about a spoonful of nasty goo. Luckily she was put on anti-biotics the day of the bite.

That said, I told my wife that the next time I take anti-biotics it's going to be because of a threat to my life or limb. Anti-biotics screw my system up big time.

where do you think the "baboon ass" thread originated?

compliments of antibiotics.

can't even remember what i did to myself to get put on the antibiotics that time, thinking it might have been a piece of metal they pulled out of my eye, or maybe that was a different eppisode entirely... I dunno.

But I agree with you, those antibiotics will mess me up something terrible.

Take the antibiotics, I bet that swollen finger is telling you something.

Get some Mentholatum for any baboon ass that crops up, it's almost an instant cure.
