Thanks, JimD.

You mean this one?

Looks a lot like a matte version of the Bushnell Elite 6500 1.25-8x32.
The L.L. Bean version doesn't seem to have a 30mm tube though.

Just got my new LL Bean Hunting catalog yesterday. So, I retrieved it and sure enough there are three different scopes they're selling with the LL Bean Logo on them. There's another scope on a second page, but it doesn't show the same logo. It's called the Monarch, maybe they are in cahoots with Nikon on this one
The one you're talking about sure looks like Bushnell had a hand in they're manufacture. But, it has a 1" tube and 4" of eye relief.
The thing that points towards Bushnell is the wide power range, from 1.5-8x36. The other two are a 2-10x40, and a 3-15x44.

That seems pretty cheap price for the 5x zoom of the Bushnell 6500 series. You might could call LL Bean and ask them who makes it for them, they might tell. Browning was very upfront when I called them asking who made the scopes they were selling with their brand on them. It was Bushnell BTW, they seem to do a good bit of special runs for companies so it just might be them again. I'd be real interested if it was them. I imagine 3200 or 4200 series glass and tube with the 5x zoom of the 6500 series. If that is the case I think it would be a steal at $250.

Thanks for that info.
Now, who is/are Kruger Optics??? grin
I guess my point here is, I'd pass on buying one. Far too many things can go wrong with a Tasco clone...
