Full length size. You can neck size on subsequent loadings if you wish.

neither.i just prime, charge, seat a bullet and rock on. if the case mouth is dinged too bad, i just use the bullet end of a loaded round to make it round enough to seat a bullet.

For me - pistol cases get primed, charged, bullet seated and shot - rifle cases get full length sized, trimmed, run through the tumbler, primed, charged, bullet seatedand then shot the first time through; second time is neck sized, checked to see if trimming is necessary, primed, charged, bullet seated and shot.

A full length sizing die will NEVER touch a new case except at the neck. It's not only a waste of time but starts working and hardening the neck before you ever shoot it. If the mouths are dinged just run an expander in there to round it. If not, a bullet will do the job just fine.

I agree completely with toad and bobski. No need to trim either. Even when using fired brass, your FL die won't resize the brass down to virgin brass size. Virgin brass is like factory loaded ammo brass- made to fit a WIDE range of chambers.

Shoot first before working on your brass.

This thread prolly should have been put in the reloading forum instead of the reloading software forum to get even more response.
