What are you guys using component-wise for your match mid-range (600 yard) loads?

I have tried several other powders like Reloder-15, AA2230 and Win 748, but I always came back to Varget; very easy to work with.

What's worse is that you will never again spell it Reloader-x, but one day I will and you'll be all over me like a cheap suit.

Kansas45, is it possible that you are talking about the Lapua Scenar (pronounced see-nar) bullet? I can't find the Sencor at the Lapua site. How is that bullet working out for you? I've heard of a few pople using it and I was wondering.

Varget

Varget

Varget

.308 = Varget

Will some other powders work? Yes.

S C E N A R Yeah, THATS IT! Now, if I could only shoot as good as I can spell I'd have it made. grin

Really though, Shooter. They work very well out to 1000 yds. I don't go that far very often, choosing to stay at 600 & under. I need some more experience before I feel comfortable at the 1000 yard mark. I do have a buddy that runs this bullet at 1000 and does pretty good with it. My .308 is a Tikka T3 Varmint with a 24" barrel & he shoots a Tikka Tactical with the 20" barrel.

Just FYI, Powder Valley has 8 lbs kegs of Varget in stock for $135 each. Best price I could find for anyone with stock. Should be here by Friday.

The French version would be Varguy; you must be thinking of the San Francisco version.

I used Lapua brass,190 grain SMK,Federal 210M primer,and Varget.My barrel was an 11 and 1/4 twist.So many loads work equally well that its a tough choice. Lightman
