For my next step in the downward spiral of my health I am having one of these installed. What can I expect?

Seems I am still producing clots which all go to my lungs, despite the thinners, so this is the next step.

Dude I truly hope you get past this [bleep]. I haven't a clue what that attached photo is. I have an acquaintance that just went through several bouts of lung clots, not sure what the final fix was but I'll ask.

Hang in there.

Appreciated. It is a filter that they put in the Aorta to catch clots.

It is a 'Greenfield filter' or variant--usually inserted via a catheter into the 'inferior vena cava' (large vein) to trap clots returning from the legs, which could then travel to the lungs, causing a pulmonary embolism.

Best wishes for your health!

Long story short: My father in law almost died four years ago from a clot that lodged between his lungs. Time passed, filters placed.

He's joining us at elk camp this year and is as fit as he was a decade ago. It has taken time, and he had to do a lot to get to where he is today, but the filters did their job and gave him a chance to work at getting an active life back.
Good luck to ya.

My best to you. Hope that contraption whatever it is works.

1981 had a pulmonary embolism a few weeks after a shattered leg. 60% blockage in my right lung and I lost 15% of it. Spent a week in ICU. Good news was I went home.
Blood clots are not fun, and down right dangerous. the Doc said I was a lucky man to have made it.

Again, take care sir, and my best to you.
