I am handling disposition of my dad-in-law's rifles and shotguns. (Will list below.)

I have no idea how selling / delivery would be handled --

1. LH TIKKA Whitetail / Deluxe in .338 Win Mag
2. LH Remington 1100 SB skeet 12 gauge
3. LH customized .270 Winchester stainless barreled 700 action with beautiful custom wood stock
4. LH Lazermark in .257 Wby being rebarreled and bedded in stainless Lilja 7 mm Rem Mag
by Bobby Pitchford.

In some cases scope and mounts are included.

My name is Barry and I live in Clute, Texas.

Guns available July 2010 -- *

1. Brand & model Remington 700 BDL customized left handed
Caliber .270 Winchester
Ser. No. 66024XX
Bases and rings 1-piece Redfield, high rings
Scope Burris Signature 4x16x44
Origin Action is from a Remington 700 BDL, 30.06, purchased new from Cookseys Gun Shop in Angleton. Dale Kimbrough restocked, rebarreled (Hart SS), re-chambered to .270 Winchester.
Stock Claro walnut, highly figured, with black foretip, cheekpiece, no Monte Carlo.
Comments Extremely accurate w. 130 gr. Handloads; one of my usual hunting guns. Beautiful gun, on the heavy side.
Asking price $1,000.00 [Scoped + 130-grain hand loads.]

2. Brand & model Weatherby Lazermark
Caliber 7 mm Remington Magnum
Ser. No. XXXXXX
Bases and rings none, but have medium Leupold rings on hand
Scope Simmons Whitetail / others on hand
Origin Bought used from individual.
Stock Walnut , highly figured, laser engraved..
Comments Bobby Pitchford is reworking gun.
Asking price TBA (being rebarreled from .257 Wby to 7 mm Rem Mag in Lilja fluted stainless + bedded]

3. Brand & model Winchester Model 70 Custom
Caliber 7 mm STW
Ser. No. 141XX
Bases and rings Redfield 2-piece bases, Leupold medium rings
Scope Burris Signature w/ Posi-lok 4x16x44
Origin Trade w/ Dale Kimbrough. The gun is built around a pre-64 Winchester 70 action (originally a .300 H&H Magnum) with a Hart fluted SS barrel and a MacMillan composite stock w/ aluminum bedding.
Comments Accurate, but I dont care for the caliber. If the barrel is shortened ~0.35 on the action end, it can be rechambered to a 7 mm Remington Magnum.
Asking price $1,500.00

4. Brand & model TIKKA M695 left handed
Caliber .338 Winchester Magnum
Ser. No. 2282XX
Bases and rings Tikka medium rings
Scope Burris Signature w/ Posi-lok 2.5x10x44
Origin Barry bought this gun for me from a local gun shop, ~ $800.00
Stock Walnut, no figure. Monte Carlo, no cheek piece
Comments Has potential (say you need an elk gun?)
Asking price $800.00 [Scoped + 250-grain hand loads.]

5. Brand & model Winchester Model 70 8A Stealth (heavy barrel target)
Caliber .308 Winchester
Ser. No. G23714XX
Bases and rings 1-piece Leupold base, high rings
Scope BSA Platinum 6.5x26x42 (Target)
Origin Bought used.
Stock Composite

Comments Very accurate, but havent really reached its potential. Scope is adequate, but could use better one..
Asking price $800.00 [Scoped + 168-grain hand loads]

6. Brand & model Garand (H&R)
Caliber 30.06
Ser. No. 56567XX
Origin Civilian Marksmanship program.
Stock Walnut as received.
Comments

7. Brand & model CVA Staghorn
Caliber 50 cal. (black powder), 1:32 twist

Comments Bought a bunch of components never fired
Asking price If anyone has an interest everything for $100.00

8. Brand & model Remington 1100 SB (left handed skeet)
Caliber 12 ga. (2 )
Ser. No. M82748XX
Barrel 28 vent rib w/ skeet choke (can be interchanged)
Origin Claudes brother, Jim.
Stock Walnut , with very good figure.
Comments Beautiful gun!
Asking price $1,050.00

*descriptions per Claudes own document. Serial numbers have last two digits as XX. Values reflected in comments about each unit.
Prices derived (a) from his approach to approximate value of scopes @ 50% plus mounts and (b) used current Gun Values book and condition of rifles to reach asking price(s). Barry has access to hand load data and current reloads -- can furnish supply of ammo to start you off. If future or additional loading is of interest, components are on hand. Until used up, we can discuss / plan meeting additional load needs.

I'll be surprised if that Garand isn't sold within the hour.

Normally the first respondent who says they'll buy a particular item gets first crack.
Shipping would have to be from you to a FFL which would be provided by the buyer.
You can use the regular USPS to ship all the rifles but they must go to a FFL.
The Garand can go to a holder of a C&R FFL.

I think the gentleman needs a little education on the Garand. He states $250/ or best offer.

A. The wolves smell blood at 250.00

B. I believe board rules don't allow bidding.

ergo a revision needs to be made to his asking price IMHO.

You're right about not knowing the value -- I have a long line of "dibs" and will keep a record of who came first on each unit. (I am on more than one forum, FWIW.)

In the case of a low asking price, how much of shipping does the interested party cover? I have no idea what shipping costs will be...

Thanks for the help and education.

Shipping can run $20 to $50 depending on who provides the shipping container. (Usually a plastic hard case with the box).
