Got a Model 60 with problems.

First, it does want to go "bang" all the time. Ammo brand doesn't make a difference, so that's out. The firing pin strike seems a bit light, maybe worn short? Should be easy to replace, right? Anything else that could lead to just a dead "click" when the trigger is pulled? Magazine spring? Been a ton of rounds through this one.

Also, when it does fire, sometimes it does want to extract the empty from the breech, and then when it does, sometimes it does want to kick it out all the way (either stovepipes or jams forward). Again, ammo brand makes no difference. Extractor and ejector worn out? Again, easy to replace, right?

Thoughts? No, I ain't replacing/junking the whole thing 'cause it was my first actual gun (BBs not included). Thanks.

I had one doing about the same thing. Problem was a build-up of crude under the ejecter. Carefully scraped it out with the tip of a knife. Hasn't missed a lick since. Maybe your problem will be as easily fixed.

Yep, afore replacing parts I would give it a good detail cleaning, probably work wonders. If nothing else get a can of CRC Powder Blast and hose out all the working parts including the firing pin channel, the LIGHTLY re-lube.

yea, clean it real good. it has a plastic buffer in there and when it starts flaking apart, the platic bits cause all types of problems.

Cleaning it doesn't change the problems, and I checked that nasty little orange follower. No problems there either.

Checked rimfirecentral; that helped narrow down and confirm the suspicions. I've narrowed it down to the firing pin, the extractor, the ejector, and the spring. For the prices involved with those parts, I think that I'll just replace them all and see what happens.
