Gents,
I have an older S&W 22lr revolver. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON
Must be one of them "made in Italy" models.
The Mayans had it right. If youre going to predict the future, its best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.

The 22/32 does go back to the times you indicated, but in an I frame gun. S&W changed from an I-frame 22/32 to a J-frame 22/32 in 1960 starting at Ser # 70,000. So if it's got the number he listed, it's an I frame. Hello Gene I said it was an I Frame. Look Up a couple of posts before this one where I explained that this may be an I Frame Early Bekeart Model target revolver...Thegeneral. I Frame, J Frame...how many angels can sit on the head of a pin? Whatever it turns out to be, it's a real find, methinks! Congrats and way to go! Hello I don't consider it any angle on Pin Heads here, I consider it being correct in what gun we are speaking of here is all... there are differences between the I Frame, Improved I Frame, J-Frame and Magnum-J-Frame's that S&W Offered and all of them come from different time frames with slight frame size differences or feature changes in the revolver it just takes experience to know which frames are which, due to the period they were made is all...Thegeneral.

Gents,
I have an older S&W 22lr revolver. MARCAS REGISTRADAS SMITH & WESSON
Hello No, S&W stamped their revolvers MARCAS REGISTRADAS to mean a Registered Patent for the ones they shipped abroad to Spain or Mexico or other foreign countries after a Patent Infringment right in the late 1800's of which they sued over was won.. The Pre-War Guns were all stamped with a one line address which was "Made in U.S.A." along with the addition of the famous stamped round S&W trade Mark symbol we saw stamped on the side of the guns main frame, that was originally designed by their engraver Alvin White. After World War II when S&W resumed production of Civilian revolver's they changed the address stamp to a new Four Line address which showed "Smith & Wesson" Springfield Mass U.S.A. MARCAS REGISTRADAS "...Thegeneral. Must be one of them "made in Italy" models.

Gents,
"22 LONG RIFLE CTG" this is framed with some funky looking symbols. What does CTG mean?
Hello George I have been told in the past, That the funky symbol's stamped before and after the caliber cartridge call out on the barrel is Reference stop points made for the stamping machine. I hope this helps, Thegeneral.
