My two cents would be the Partition. It's been proven too much and the Accubond doesn't have enough support yet to back it up. I wouldn't trust those tipped bullets yet, they can show pictures of mushrooms all they want but all it takes is a bad batch of bonding and there goes your hunt.

Either use a Nosler or a Nosler and third choice would be a Nosler

And because of the smaller frontal area, will give you a smaller exit hole, maybe a poorer blood trail. There is always a trade - off, isn't there?
Either bullet will kill an elk equally well if your shot placement is good. You might have to shoot 1000 elk to ever see a definitive difference...................if indeed there IS one.

Jackfish if I am reading your post right it sounds like you're a proponent of the IB"s. I am just wondering about your experience using the IB's on elk, what have you experienced?
Gracias

I haven't used them on elk yet. I base my comments on JJHACK's experience. If he likes them, I like them. JJHACK's thread on the 30 caliber 165 grain Hornady Interbond

Partitions RULE!!!
I've droped several elk with them. from 50 to 250 yards with an old 30-06 and one with a 308. Found they had great penitration and retained weight (Kinda like my ex-girlfriend) very well. i have several hundred stashed in 30 cal and 243. USE them/they work...

I know it is not one of the choices, but I wouldn't leave the Swift Scirocco out of the picture...especially with the improved version out on the market now.

I will try not start any flames here just my observation.Last fall i used the Partition all hunting season. The bullet was the 7mm 150 grain part launched from a STW.Took six game animals with it moose bear both spieces and deer. The bullet killed fast and very humainly.Shot good too. This year i will be using the interbond 154 grain. The reason for it is because with the high velocity hitting bone the part ruined too much meat for my liking. But if bears are on the menu the Nosler all the way.Just not my table fair.
