I hope this is in the right place, but I figured it be best to ask here.

I know the classifieds is full of firearms, parts, bino's, scopes and such. Is it appropriate to list a Warn Winch for sale or trade or should I put that in the 4x4 section?

Thanks.

If it don't roll (no pun intended) a follow up (with link) in the 4x4 section after a day or so....

Thanks guys.

Fish Head,

Tried Craigslist and so far I have gotten tons of folks who aren't serious.

The winch is in slighly used but excellent shape and normally retails for close to $1000. Best offer to date was $150........

I ain't that desperate. Matter of fact I'm only getting rid of it for cash for a scope. Just had a rifle given to me from a friend who is terminally ill. Want to set this rifle up right in his honor so here I am...

Don't have any extra scopes lying around so I figured as little as I use the winch I'd go ahead and sell it.

Think I'll get some better pics tonight and list it in the classifieds. Can't hurt I suspect. Just didn't know if it was common to do so.

No problem at all.
Heck there are $400 purses being sold there right now! laugh
(offered for far less than $400 too so they may be a good deal if you're into purses that much)

Seems to be classified ettiquete to price an item and not just ask for "best offer".

Thanks for the heads up and that shouldn't be a problem. Have a very firm price in mind and that is why the craigslist folks pissed me off.

What I have found with Craigslist is if you put your e-mail address in the actual ad itself, you will be bombarded with spam and numerous "unrelated to your ad" e-mails. We found this out the hard way 2 weeks ago, no we just let them contact us through Craigslist or they can call us on the phone.

That's ok, I'll ass shoot a dink.

Kelk -
If wildbill59 isn't interested, PM me and I might be. Depends on the size and price.

As noted above, there is all kinds of stuff listed in the classifieds. I have bought a couple of tools and a cleaning kit, among other things.
A couple of (new) guys got snotty about it, saying it was supposed to be a guns classified. They were quickly put in their place by other members of the forum and I haven't seen them since!

I'm sure your winch would sell there just fine.

We do more than just shoot here.

A winch is very much related to hunting, fishing, camping, and the outdoors, all of the things that the Campfire crew is in to.

I'd say a winch is perfectly acceptable in the classifieds here.

What are the regulations on shipping a winch? Do you have to go through a dealer?
Just kidding...for Bricktop. grin
