I loved mine - and regretted selling it.
Shortened the barrels just above legal and it actually improved the regulation.
Best truck gun I ever had.
Buy it Braindead, and save me from having to do something desperate.

What is the choke on the 20 gauge?
Thinking this would be perfect for a fun turkey gun, with the 222 on top for the coyotes that I always see when turkey hunting...

FWIW, Savage didn't introduce the 24V until the mid-1960s, so this combination gun probably isn't more than 25 or so years old. The "Series" roll stamp did come along until sometime later, but I'm not sure when the Series C falls into the time-line.
All of the 410 and 20 gauge 24s, except for the 24C, were cataloged as having full chocks.

Serial number starting with a C is going to be mid-70's I think, can be more specific when I get home.
Be a nice rig to have.

The "newer" versions had the separation between the barrels. I had a 22LR/20 ga around 1970 and it had a solid connection all the way to the muzzle.

I just bought one of these but not as nice as this one. Someone should snap it up! How do you mount a scope and what kind of a scope can you put on it without getting the old "scope in the eye routine" when you shoot the 20 gauge? I don't like the scout mounts but I'm afraid to get my eye knocked out.

I have a variety of 1.5x-4.5/5 and 2-7x scopes on my Savage 24Vs and have managed not to get scope bit. I've shot a few doves, grouse, and ducks with the scope set on low power. Any good quality 1" tube scope should have enough eye relief to make shooting with a scope safe, as long as you don't creep the stock or have the stock slip off your shoulder.

Thanks for determining the age. I used info on savage24.com to try and decipher the serial. Guess it wasn't accurate, lol. I have no idea the exact age. I've had it for years and never fired it and really don't have a use for it.

They are neat guns... I have a Hornet x 20 and a 22LR x 410 and they are fun to play with...
Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.

I have one that is my turkey/coyote and carry on the 4 wheeler gun. Its killed about everything. I have a old Weaver K4 with post reticle that works really well. Never had the scope come close to hitting even with 3" mags. My shotgun shoots a little low but easy to compensate if you know about it.
