Mule Deer,

I just wanted to let you know, that I have a bone to pick with you! The wife and I went up to Great Divide today to attempt our luck at skiing. Well after we were done, we were hungry and ran in to Helena. I wanted to go to Capital Sports and Western Wear, as we are moving back to the south in 3 weeks, and this would be our last trip that way. Well needless to say, I found a few nice guns in Capital as usual, but came out empty handed. My wife on the other hand, walks out of there with a shirt, and a new handbag. How in the hell, does my wife walk out of their with a handbag?

Now, since no one in America will take the consequences for their actions, I some how figure it's your fault for this.;) See, I had been to Capital before I started reading your work, but after reading your work, it made the trips (usually twice a year) that much sweeter for me. For a last trip, that I wanted to be some thing I could remember, I come up empty handed and the wife gets another prized hand bag to add to her endless collection. Thanks A lot Mule Deer!

Jeesh, see what you did Mule Deer...
I think you better-set things right. You march right back there and get two items just like your wife did. But you might look funny carrying a handbag...

I bet you she will still be way ahead of you.

What were you THINKING? Did you really think you could out-shop a WOMAN? The only way to get ahead is to shop without her. but then, she'll shop without you. kind of an arms race you are bound to lose.

Think that's bad??.......my wife has bought more than I have at the last few gunshows we have attended!! At the last show, she bought a $150 pair of earrings, a fiberglass walking stick (dog whacker) and something else (I think??)........I didn't buy anything......I'm not complaining, at least she enjoys going with me and doesn't mind when I buy something.....

Hey, I plead ignorance.

My wife and I shop together at Capital all the time. Only once in a very great while does she buy something from that "other" section of the store.

Mostly she buys guns and ammo. Last time we went in I traded for a Sedgely Springfield and she bought a box of low-velocity .22 hollow-points for her ancient Colt Woodsman--which she also bought at Capital.

By the way, the secret to finding the really good guns at Capital is to visit at least once a week, as I do. Just before hunting and season and just after are the best times, but you never know. Since December 1st I've bought 4 rifles there. Well, acutally, traded for half of them.

Mule Deer,

I have found a gun I liked every time I have been to Capital. That's some thing I can not say about the shops here in Great Falls. Sure, I go to them more oftern since I live here, but 75% of the time, nothing they have appeals to me. If I lived in Helena, I would probably have a steady flow of trades coming in and out of Capital. For now, I'll just stick with the guns I have, as they should be able to cover every thing in MS I plan to hunt.
