All,
I have recently installed a set of 30mm Signature Rings on my Remington 700 SPS SS and was at the range at the weekend to zero my rifle. Unfortunately, although my rifle is centred for elevation I ran out of right hand windage adjustment. I've calculated that I will need 0.020" inserts to correct the mis-alignment. It appears from an Interweb search that 0.020" inserts are available for 1" tubes but it is unclear if they are available for a 30mm tube. Can anyone confirm definitively?
Thanks for your assistance.
Kind regards,
Tim

As an after thought I have two sets of 0.010" inserts supplied with the rings. If I installed one set to the rear rings and the other set diagonally opposed to the front rings would that give me the 20 MOA that I'm looking for?
Thanks and regards,
Tim

Yes. I've done it a few times.
Burris specifies .030 max offset, IIRC.

Thanks Paul. It looks like you're bang on there. In the interim I've had a reply from Burris to the effect that if I insert the 10 thou inserts diagonally opposed to the front and rear rings it will give me the adjustment I'm after.
I have to say that Burris customer service seems to be top notch as I think I had a reply to my e-mail within about half an hour of the office opening.
Kind regards,
Tim

I bought a cheap laser bore sighter and used it at dusk to get my scope pretty well centered before using the internal adjustments at about 100 yards. I reset the scope to centered windage and elevation before starting. It was trial and error (about 3 tries). I was about 1" off at 100 yards when I shot for zero.

Tim Had the same exact gun and a worse problem with alignment. The new owner had to send it back to Remington , hethought I was kidding him when I told him the mounting screws were out of wack.

Tim,
I'm assuming you're not using the Signature set-up with the windage screws on the rear base?
