what is your opinions on lazzeroni rifles. I am thinking about getting one of their sako rifles in either .284 firebird or .308 warbird. the velocity on these cartridges is amazing. 7mm 140 grain at 3750fps and 30 caliber 150 at 3775fps. I was just wondering what people thought of these. I also wonder what the barrel life of these would be like.<P>------------------<BR>"and I ain't got no money but I damn sure got it mad cause I ain't askin nobody for nothing if I can't get it on my own. If you don't like the way I'm livin you just leave this long haired country boy alone"<BR>Charlie Daniels<P>"I got a shotgun a rifle and a 4 wheel drive and a country boy can survive" Hank jr.

Hey rock42 >> I'm currently working up my MAX load in my TRG-S 7.82 Warbird. Opinions on the round ... AWESOME !!! Recoil is certainly a factor, but with 180 gr. bullet going 3500 fps, it's going to be. I think that the Sako is constructed very well to absorb as much of the recoil as it can, but you're still sat up pretty good when trigger's pulled. I believe that it is a reloaders rifle, unless you've got money. Factory ammo from Lazzeroni at $90 (plus) for twenty was a bit steep for me. $300 for dies and 100 unprimed brass will pay for itself quickly. I personally think barrel life has more to do with your maintanence of it rather then the round. If you heat the barrel and keep shooting, she won't last you long, as with any round. Proper cleaning and cool down time between shots should help. Good luck with the round. Later. >> klallen
