I finally surmised that "we" are calling a Remington action a "SUCKS". Please explain! I was a die hard Remington fan for years (had as many as 13 in the house at one time) and they all shot great, worked flawlessly and were pretty good lookin' too (but not as nice as that Win. FWT!). Please advise.
Mike.

there is an old thread that rants on and on about it.....

the Sucks montra is all in jest and fun, most here who use the Sucks liberally, all they own are the Rem actions.

It is a term of endearment.

CC,

"thay all shot great, worked flawlessly and were pretty good lookin' too"

To the CRF die hards, you obviously cannot be an experienced or knoweldgable hunter and hold that view, because after all, Rem 700s "SUCK".

To us Rem 700s fans, we agree. It SUCKS how much better 700s shoot than CRFs, it SUCKS how they replaced the M-70 as the Sinper rig in Vietnam, it SUCKS how the US Military continues to insist on 700s, it SUCKS that there are almost twice as many Rem 700 varaints out there than M-70 variants, it SUCKS that so many use 700s and have no feeding or reliablity issues, etc.

As yuo can see, it was just based on the 700 fans trying to be agreeable to the CRF fans that the name SUCKS became associated with Rem 700s around here.

I have to admit, I went ignorant until I searched for the refrence. I remember thinking, these guys hate Remmington something powerful.

Back on shooters.com before it went belly up, there was a Remington fan who claimed that he had, "just last night," hung from a bar by his knees upside down, and cycled a full magazine through his remington............. so what the heck did anybody need positive feed for blah blah blah...

I always like that guy after that, (being a remington fan) for actually doing that, (to say he had done it) or for just making it up and saying he had done it... either way - hats off! hah hah hah... but then the debate turned to why didn't he just turn the rifle upside down to do his experiment blah blah blah..which obviously misses the point.

I think the guys nickname on shooters.com was lonewolf, but that was after they kicked him off under another name. He was a rather, "straight-forward" kinda talking fellow, and it irked folks now and then. I wonder what happened to a bunch of guys from shooters.com, like Night-eyes, and Ballistics-In-Scotland, and Highmaster. I don't know if Lonewolf ever showed up over here or not. I think he was from the Norfolk area and claimed to have about 100 or so, custom tuned 308's but who knows if that was true or if I remember it right!
LOL. Inspector posts here now and then, but he used to stir the pot for some interesting debate back on the old cracker barrel. Oh well.

Nighteyes posts at my board and gun nuts, B-i-S was posting till Rule 303 died in a diving accident on my board as well, I see Swede 6.5, ( whom I trade frequent emails with) Bren, Inspector and Tweety around sometimes as well. Those are all that I am aware of.

I didn't hang by my knees, but were we all had a much lowever level of knowledge and experience, someone said something like a round could easily fall out of a push feed. So I turned my Rem 700 upside down and found that it fed just fine. That's when I also learned the majority of feeding is controlled by the interation between the round, the follower and the feed rails, even in a CRF...............

Didn't realize a previous post was literal. Bad joke that I should have thought about more before posting. I apologize if I offended anyone.
