I am looking for reduced loads for the 358 norma for bullets like the 158 grain hornady. Would be even better if someone had a load using 5744, as I have an abundance of it. That combination worked great in my 35 whelen with 23.5 grains. Thanks in advance.

Hi ricciardelli

I see lots of loads (and some are for lighter bullets) but how does one tell which are *reduced* loads?

I know it is possible to drive light bullets like 150grains at some really high velocities, so bullet weight isn't useful here, is it?

Maybe there is something on the charts that I'm missing... (won't be the first time!) <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I shoot a 350 Rigby, which is almost the same case capacity as a 358 Norma. I've found 14 gr of unique will push a 200 gr cast bullet to 1400 fps, and is quite accurate. It's a very fun load to shoot, you hear the wack of the bullet hitting the target backer a bit after the report.

That would be a good starting load, then, for your 358 Norma.

Velocity will be a bit less. You can see what accuracy is like and go from there.
