I just picked up a Ti and want to start working up a deer load. I already found my predator load with varget and the v-max but I think that's a little fast. I was thinking along the lines of H4350 or maybe 4831?? I haven't made up my mind between the XXX and partition--I'll probably see which is more accurate and stick with it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I use R19 in mine with these wgts. I`d try the H4350 first although both are good choices.

H4350 will do the trick. I'd consider Ramshot Hunter, or maybe Big Game. Big Game is only slightly faster than 4350.

How do you like the Ti? I have a Mountain Rifle in .260 that I have not shot yet.

I was thinking about the 100/125 partitions, 129 Hornady, or 120 TSX for my deer load. My daughter will be shooting it also so I don't want to go too hot to start.

Keep the .260 info flowing...

Can't comment on the 125s, but with 129gr Hornadies, H4831 is the powder in my .260 Low Wall. With 47.8gr, it has averaged .67" for the last five 3-shot groups I have shot with it.

In my Mountain rifle LSS, H4350 with 120 btips, 125 gr partitions and 129 interlocks. All group way under an inch, very accurate, use 46, 45.5 and 45 gr repsectivley, get around 2900 with each. Tried 130 gr tsx's with H4350 starting at 41, not quite so good, still working on them. The 125 gr partition is just awesome on deer.

you're right, H4350 or H4831 will be your best bets, choose whichever shoots the best for ya.

I liked H4831 with the 120 gr. Ballistic Tip for accuracy in the mtn rifle m700 I had.

Hodgdon - H-4350 or H-4831

IMR - IMR-4350 or IMR-4831 (both of these seem to be slightly faster than their H-4350 couterparts)

Alliant - RL-19

Ramshot - Hunter

If I had to pick 1 powder for 100g - 140g bullets it would be H-4350. Of course, who knows what will shoot well in your rifle.

If any of you have the 120g TSX onhand, I would sure like to know the length of that bullet and how well it fits in a Rem short action.

If you have access to a chronograph, then start some loads with Varget and the heavier bullets. It might do just as well as the slower Hodgdon powders. It is quite versatile, and then you'd only have one can of powder to deal with. If Varget does not get the deer bullets up to speed, then get one of the slower ones.

I have even used H-1000 with excellent results in the .260 Rem.

I just picked up a box of 120 TSX's to try in my 260. They measure 1.248" in length. I plan on trying H4350 and Ramshot Hunter for the push.

I've stuffed alot of H1000 behind a 140 gr. Sierra GameKing BTSP and got pretty good results too
