I see a lot of good information on here about rifles, scopes, reloads, ect. But, and this is not intended to be a slap at anyone, actually hunt and have field experience with the stuff they talk about ,
not range testing or supposition ? NOW remember I'm not putting anyone down, one friend of mine is very gunny but has never shot a head of game. Just curious thats all.

Started hunting in 64 been at it ever since. I've been reloading since 99. I find reloading and shooting very calming. Hunting now has become more of an exploring thing than having to come home with something.
Well we're Green and we're Gold, and we play better when it's cold. All us Cheese heads have our favorite superstar. We love Brett Favre.

I was going to say something about my passion for hunting pussies, but figured that I'd better let it go.

I'll answer serriously, because I know whereof you speak.
Once on a firearm forum ( that I won't name) there was a lot of commentary, some apparently authoritative, that either extolled the merits or decried the defects of a particular specialty pistol that had recently been released by a major firearms Co. This was a relatively expensive gun, but I had been using it in competition for a few weeks at the time. After reading the 25 or so posts, it became very apparent that none of the"authorities" had ever used this pistol or even seen it! I finally replied as follows: Since unlike most of you actually OWN this pistol....etc. It put the discussion to a period, except that I was able to answer a few of the serious questions that had been put forth.
So the answer if Yes, I do hunt. I can tell by the comments that many of the answers on this forum are also by hunters that spend time in the field. Of course all our experiences are colored by where we live, and the type of hunting we do. I live here in the PRK, and mostly hunt in relatively mild conditions, as the deer seasons are not late. One can hunt pig year round, and I do, but again the weather of the areas where these animals live are relatively mild. I only hunted in snow one time, and that was on a deer/antelope hunt in early October in Wyoming on a private ranch. So conditions were relatively controlled, even there.
Only in the area of optics do I see opinions written out of ignorance, as some people seem biased by their predjudices. Hey so am I!

mrmarklin, Your serious post made me feel bad about being a smart aleck.
The number of bullets that I shoot that actually hit game is miniscule in comparison to the bullets I slam into dirt, steel, clay birds, squirrels, rats, rocks, and hogs (considered vermin where I whack most of them), as well as most every other thing that gets in my way.
Of course, over the last several years, the greatest number of big game tags that I've had in one season in 3, so the opportunities were not quite as plentiful
