"The Church can and should help modern society by tirelessly insisting that the work of women in the home be recognized and respected by all in its irreplaceable value." Apostolic Exhortation On The Family, Pope John Paul II
Wow! I had to grab the desk only 4 times but I did fall out of my chair once.
Very cool.
It is incumbent on every generation to pay its own debts as it goes. A principle which if acted on would save one-half the wars of the world. - Thomas Jefferson
"Not in an open forum, where truth has less value than opinions, where all opinions are equally welcome regardless of their origins, rationale, inanity, or truth, where opinions are neither of equal value nor decisive." Ken Howell
Excellent! Thanks for that! I used to hang w/ a master falconer in my younger years, thought it amazing to watch (and listen to )the peregrines dive in for the kill. Neat to see from the other side!
Narrator calls the goshawk "the master" (or some such).
I doubt that. For several years now I"ve been seeing a merlin in one of my deer hunting spots. I've seen him while cutting firewood too, but it's much cooler the times I was up a tree and he came through at or near eye level. Amazingly fast and agile. And this is no old wood stand, mostly younger trees with much more branching than what's in the film clip. There's a literal maze of arrow and bullet deflecting twigs to be avoided but it doesn't slow him down a bit. Dodge and duck and twist and roll, it's an awesome sight. The most amazing thing is how easy he makes it all look. I think he does it just for fun.

"When is penguin season, daddy? I wanna go kill a penguin!" ---- 4 yr old Archerhuntress
Freakin' unbelievable!! Could hardly stand to watch the views from its perspective of it flying through the woods.
Bring enough gun and know how to use it.
Know that it is not the knowing, nor the talking, nor the reading man, but the doing man, that at last will be found the happiest man. - Thomas Brooks (1608-1680)
Met a fella a few years ago that hunts in Eastern Oregon with them. He uses a dog to hunt chuckars and pheasants with the falcon. The dog points and the falcon and dog wait for the guy to give them the go ahead. The dog flushes and the falcon comes out of the sky like a bat out of hell.
He trains these birds and sells them all over the world. The Arabs are his biggest customers. He told me that he gets upwards of $50,000.00 for a mature, trained falcon.
One of these days I'm hoping to go hunting with him. He lives just a few miles from me.
They're pretty fast, even with instruments on board!
Years ago I was watching a flight demo by a peregrine. It was turned loose, circled the crowd of people standing watching it, then dove and flew straight AT the crowd, blowing through the people at warp speed, flipping up on a wingtip to go between people. It was so fast no one could do anything but gasp as it went by.
