If I EVER finish this old house rehab, (hopefully this spring) I want to be shooting every free moment. I do not fly anymore cuz I don't want to anymore ever again. So what are the options from Florida to Maine year round?
Spring Bear is kinda limited any more is it not? Who has a Spring bear season anymore? Maybe I will go on up to NewFoundland for that.
When is wild pig season in GA?
Then there is varmints, ground hogs and calling in fox and coyote, and dairy farm crows.
What am I missing? Deer season, of course and squirrels next fall, but there has got to be more stuff to hunt and shoot, (with rifles) Anybody shoot them nutria on the eastern shore of Maryland? Is that any fun? Can you eat them cursed things?
What do you crazy Cajuns do in the spring and summer? What can you hunt down in them swamps?
I am open to all crazy ideas.
Thanks again you all!

Dixie, Oregon has a Spring bear season and plenty of public land to hunt on. One of the best areas is near Gold Beach just south of the Rogue river. Check it out. Mike.

The snowbirds will be starting back north from the valley soon. Pretty fair wing shooting.

What do you crazy Cajuns do in the spring and summer? Drink beer and fish usually. You can shoot hogs year round and probably Nutria too. Not much in the way of varments around here though.

Ditto on the Snowbirds. Texas has year around hog hunting. Hunt them in day. Hunt them at night. There are still a few farmers / ranchers who will let you hunt them for free if you promise not to sue them on an injury liability issue. They want as many of them boogers dead as you take.
When your done hunting try some fishing. There is both great fresh and salt water available.
Best To Ya.. BP...

no season on pigs in alabama, either. you can go year-around. same for la and miss.? squirrel and rabbit season go through feb. 28 here. you'd have to switch to shotgun or centerfire pistol for turkeys in alabama, spring and fall.

Newbrunswick has a spring bear season. It begins in April and ends in June. They kill some pretty big bears up that way. Most of the states from Florida to Maine have spring turkey seasons. Drive over to Texas and you can hunt wild pigs about anytime you want, plus exotics. Arkansas, South Carolina, and North Carolina all have wild pigs as well and liberal seasons. While not fur or hair, there's always big game fishing for sharks, tarpon, and bill fish. So there's really no excuse to not stay busy year' round.
Is it Friday yet?

Coyotes are in season all year in Iowa and I suppose many other states, too. Not much better to hone skills on than the wiley coyote!

Tennessee has a really liberal squirrel season. You can shoot them from the last Sat in Aug til the end of Feb. Then it reopens in May for a month. Them bushytails can be lots of fun in them leaves.
The spirit of those that are more experienced should not be lost.
It should be passed on, so that it may live, and be passed on again!

Turkeys are Spring and fall birds here in OR (I know it aint rifle shooting).
Spring and fall bear hunts.
Deer and Elk in the fall.
Ducks and geese in winter.
Liberals in Birkenstocks are considered a pest species--therefore, the season in open all year . . . . . . . (grin).
