Just to ride Kurt's coattails, I was also in WY recently and we had good luck with a couple critters as well. Found this guys early in the week, but couldn't get an arrow through him. Came back later with the rifle. My hunting partner found one he took a shining to as well. Not a bad opener. Looks like you had a great time. Congratulations.
I'll be up there in a week and half. The unit where I'm hunting doesn't open until 10-1.

Nice. Any lengths on those horns, just for reference? I'm guessing 16" but I guess poorly so I'd be interested to hear the real numbers.

Both were 16" on the long and just under on the short. Both scored 81"+

Really nice bucks - congrats to the both of you. Like many, I'm also counting the days until I'm back in Wyoming chasing antelope. Should be there on the 2nd of October for 5 days of hunting heaven:)

And nice goats. Yep, Axl was the greatest hunting partner and we had some amazing hunts in our 10 years together. Hundreds of birds, dozens of deer, many pronghorn, couple elk and a Wilderness Area mountain goat. It was a sad Friday the 13th of last month when I had to put my buddy down. This was his last lope hunt from last season. http://onyourownadventures.com/hunttalk/showthread.php?t=241213

I was going to go with North Dakota, but since they don't have a season this year and I did mess up on the title of the thread I had to let it out.
