Found this for my friend; it was a 223. He found a 17 tube, but it had no throat for 4 inches. I scored him the 20" "H&R" 17 Rem. barrel. Sez "Ultra Wildcat" on it. Won't run the no-go even close, snug yet closes easily on the go.....and ammo. Mikes .500 at the muzzle, a 222 tube goes .575..... He sez its gettin an Edge. Can't explain how light it really is. Its going to whack sentinels next month when crows open... A wrench, vise and gauges are nice things..... Think I saw that last Saturday This is whats in the work; 1. Sako Forester 220 Weatherby Rocket 23 Shilen #2 1-8 throated for 90 gr VLD McMillan Sako Varmint to be painted?? 2. Sako AIII 375 H&H 20 factory barrel McMillan Sako hunter black and olive Next project Sako AV 375 Whelen barrel and stock TBD (I know it wont headspace).

And I have nothing in the works. I'm probably about to sell everything but a Glock and the kid's rifle. Need to buy a truck. I'll probably start over next summer. That could be fun.
your flippant remarks which you so adeptly sling

Only read about them but have never found one in a shop or gun show. Travis

Nothing too exciting. I just bought a 7-08 SS ADL, and I think I'm going to order an EDGE for it, and slap a different scope on it, maybe a Conquest. I've been toying with the idea of rebarreling my Sportsman 78 to a .222 (thanks, Ingwie!). I would like to get rid of all of my Burris/Bushnell/Weaver/B&L scopes and stick with Zeiss and Leupy.
Question: what is a SUCKS?

Nothing that exciting. I'm getting to know my old, new-to-me '47 M70 270 in a Legend edge.
Also a 17# 260Rem F Class rifle, built by Greydog on a Barnard S action, Krieger #17A 28" tube and a heavy fill A5 stock. On top it wears a 8.5-25x50 LRT Leupold.
Right now I'm busy just getting to know the new rifles in the safe, don't need anything else.
Anybody who seriously concerns themselves with the adequacy of a Big 7mm for anything we hunt here short of brown bear, is a dufus. They are mostly making shidt up. Crunch! Nite-nite!

Modified Husky HVA action in 6.5x55. Timney added, model 70 style saftey, bolt release removed and hole welded up, screw holes on right side welded up, action screw in the rear made blind, 1909 bottom metal added. Shilen #2ish, basically took a #3 down to factory countour living it a little skinny in some places in relation to the factory, finished at 22". Cerakoted in black layed in a gray McMillan Sako Hunter pattern with edge. Should be back from restock, cerakote in the next couple of weeks. Leupold 6x42 with new M1 elevation should hit the door today.

Faux Ti but can't decide on chambering so far I have or ordered:
700 ADL Callahan Speedlock Firing Pin Assembly Redfield 3-9 Talley lw lows Ti takeoff
I just don't know what chambering. Is it worth cutting down and punching a factory barrel? Or should I just order a new barrel from Pac Nor? Its currently a .25-06, wouldn't mind a .25-06ai or a .280ai.
Despite my user name, no I am not from Texas.........

600 action 25-284, LW Mountain Contour SS at 22in. Bansner stock or 257AI, Schneider #3 at 22in on another 600 action Bansner stock or might modify and paint the original wood stock for something Skwirly..

Those HR Ultra Wildcats in 17-223 are getting rarer and rarer. The stock were awesome little buggers, always good wood. It would pay to keep her as is, even if there's no throat in it. Adam
