It's getting late in the season, I think Clucko got some corn that has started to turn. Nothing beats a drunk chicken for reckless behavior. :p

Well, people looked drunk for picking Nevada last week as well. Sometimes it's the drunk that walks away from a train wreck.

WVU is in the top 20 passing in the nation. They've never had that stat. WVU has a spectacular record against the SEC and a night game in LSU won't intimidate them one bit. LSU has no offense to speak of really but I'll concede to their far superior defense, save for their secondary that was picked apart by a couple of teams this year already. If they are the first team to hold Devine under 100 yards, then maybe WVU will implode. If WVU gets out to a fast start, we'll have a good ballgame. I think many are used to WVU's running QBs and some are thrown by Geno's always improving passing skills. Md saw what I'm speaking of first hand. marshall was a fluke. The greatness of the "EERS was the comeback, not the score or almost losing. They are capable of scoring 21 points in minutes!

I just hope the BE does well tonite. I'll take a loss on the Penguin challenge to work towards a dream season (my dream) 1-11 record.

I'll agree that it was a great comeback, but they should never have been anywhere near defeat in that game.
Stats this far into the saeson are very misleading, since crappy teams are playing good team and good teams are playing crappy teams. Once the good teams start playing conference games against good teams and crappy teams start playing crappy competition in their crappy conference games, we will have a better picture on stats.
For example, the Buckeyes have looked terrible on special teams. We are giving up huge yardage on Kickoff returns, having 1 TD run back and another that was run back for a TD that was negated because of a penalty. This is primarily due to the fact that we are scoring so much that we are kicking off a lot more than we will once we get into conference play (well maybe not our first 2 weeks in conference against IN and IL..grin) so these stats while troubling, are not really all that meaningful.
I still feel that WVU will get nearly blown out in this game. I'm not baiting you, thats just the way that I see it. Comparing what your team has done historically will get you into trouble when you are looking at totally different dynamics for a single game.

You seem to have forgotten about their last 5 SEC games. Now they have a passing QB. This game will be closer than many think.

You trying to lose your coach? BTW, you guys have at least as good a shot as anyone to go to your conference championship game. I see Miami going about 10-3 this season, with as good a shot as anyone in the ACC to go to a BCS game. I could see wanting to go 1-11 if hopes werent high, but all indications are that this will be Miamis best season in a long while this year.

This is a totally different team than they were in their Prime with Coach Rod. Your most recent SEC game would have the most bearing on this game anyways. Losing by 11 to Auburn, a team that went 3-5 in conference last year, would not make me very optimistic when playing a team that will probably 5-3 or 6-2 in SEC play this year. Of course, your playing a team that is coached by "The Hat" so you do have an outside shot at this one.

Yes, I have wanted UM to go 1-11 for three years now. 0-12 would be better, but we must be willing to accept less than perfection sometimes. Randy Shannon is a horrible coach that is damaging the program more than even Coker could. I couldn't give a rat's ass about conference championships. Conference championships are for losers. The only problem tonite is that Pornstache might be as piss poor a HC as Shannon. It's the battle of Head Coaching suckitude in the 'Burg.

I could see that:
Shannon: Fullback screen on 3rd and 27.
'Stache: I see your fullback screen and raise with a fake punt on 4th and 7 from my own 16 yard line.
Shannon: THE U laughs at your feeble fake punt and calls with a Harris interception on our 14 yard line with 34 seconds left in the half.

Near as I can tell, West Virginia has a 22-18-2 record against the SEC, thats not bad.
And just for you Roy, West Virginia is only 1-5 against the Buckeyes.

Yeah, I wrote earlier that Pitt had an edge in coaching.
No one wanted to touch that, LOL!
It's like the differnce in getting beat 100-0 and only getting beat 99-0. You suck either way, but at least you blocked that 15th extra point!

Upset games of the week, ranked from most likely to least....
1. Oregon over Boise-This one will happen and Clucko and I will ride off into the sunset with one another.
2. SMU over TCU-June Jones appears to have this program on track. Remarable since they totally sucked before he got there. I think that this one may shock many, but not me.
3. AZ State over Oregon-I can't tell if AZ State is better than I thought, or Wisconsin is worse than I thought. Regardless, there may be Duck tears come Saturday.
4. Cinci over Oklahoma-Why is OK traveling to Cinci? Seriously, the Buckeyes won't agree to go to their stadium, so why would OK? Cinci has the talent both on their roster and on their coaching staff to pull this one off. Do I think they will? No, but I do think that they have an outside shot at this one.
5. Kentucky over Florida-Florida is a very confused football team right now. They have not looked like the Gators that we've seen the past couple of years, and they better get their crap together soon or someone is going to teach them a very tough lesson.

How bout this for an upset pick?? Yet some fans and prognosticators keep chirping about the Owls chances this year. Temple is 3-0 for the first time since 1979, and the 23rd-ranked Nittany Lions have a few glaring issues, particularly an inconsistent running attack. Unbeaten Temple travels to Penn State

Possible, but highly unlikely.
There is a lot of talk that this is a preview game of Penn States next head coach.
I'm not real hot on Golden, but he is looking like the frontrunner to replace JoePa when the time comes.
Pulling off the big upset here could go a LONG way towards making this happen when the time comes. Hell, it might even speed up the process....
