I've always admired them since the day they came out and I got to caress a .22 Hornet ( Browning ). I was raising a very young family at the time at buying one was out of the question. I'm looking now and wonder if those that own them or used to own them, wouldn't mind sharing some photos and insight to the arm? What did you like or dislike and do you have any pictures to share?

Nothing to dislike except most don't come with an optional single set trigger like the originals. We have two Brownings, (25-06 and 40-82 custom), Winchester 30-06 and Ballard Co (when still in WY) 300 Super Flanged (rimmed 300 H&H). Great rifles all. Ballard: (has single set trigger) Browning 40-82, WRA 30-06, Browning 25-06

Wow! Jack pot! Nice high walls, Boss! That Ballard is a stunner! Can the triggers be adjusted? I like around 2.5# on my bolt guns. I'm leaning towards a low wall like this one, in a caliber yet to be determined.

I have a Winchester 22 lowall, that is just an absolute tac driver. The trigger on this one is adjustable, and the owners manual has the instructions on how to do it.

Not a lowall, but we recently picked up one of the new 45-70 Winchester bpcr's for my wife. It's got one of the fanciest set of wood I've ever seen on a production rifle, and those 2 are getting used to each other in a hurry. By next years bpcr season, if she practices a little, her and that rifle are liable to be bringing home another wall full of plaques...

Have only had high walls, both Browning & Winchester. I still worship them as the finest of JMB's creations. Never seen anything as graceful as the Model of 1878 (Browning) or the 1885 Winchester. I have two and play with them every day.

This is my Low Wall .260 Rem. This is one of the most accurate rifles I have ever owned. Wish I had pictures of some of its targets. It will stick the Remington 120 gr Accutip into one hole at 100. It does not feel as "natural" in my hands as a Ruger #1 but it shoots so good and looks so good that I overlook that minor detail. [img:center] [/img]

I had a Browning in 22 Hornet but sold it on here.. A 243 was the first rifle I ever bought with my own money.. Still have it and it will shoot 100gr Sierras into the same hole at 100yds... Its is one of those AMAZING guns... Kinda perdy to look at too.. Strip down the wood on them and give it a hand rubbed oil finsh... Man-o-man, ther aint nothin perdier..

I agree on the hand rubbed oil finish. I much prefer that to the Rolls Royce grade glossy finish.

I really like my 1885's. However they are not a rifle to put a scope on. I can not see any reason to own a classic rifle then put a modern scope on it-it just ruins the look and appearance of the rifle to me(Just an opinion-please don't flame me for it). That big block sitting on the barrel is just out of proportion. Tom.

I have a Browning Lo-Wall that was originally a .22 Hornet. Had it rebored to .32 H&R because I wanted a small game rifle that mimicked the old British rook rifles. Darned if Pennsylvania didn't prohibit center-fire rifles for most small game, so now it mostly sits in the back of the vault. Timing is everything and, as usual, mine was bad.
