Ya, they are a feral flock out here... I first killed some about 10 years ago, but you nailed it- this was helping out a neighbor who was being driven crazy by the noisy bastids.... They eat good!  I killed a few more the next day, let me see if I ever uploaded the pic to PB...

Jeff--You should give those feathers to a fly tying shop and keep the circle alive. My wife is a Special Ed. teacher's aid and she took them in to give away as prizes for the kids... they loved them.

I got some mallards today. 60-70mph winds made it interesting. Didn't have my camera though, as it was raining sideways.

They are wild enough that they keep 30-40 yards away... But my Mossberg swatted 'em pretty good out there. Yeah, it was fun. I ended up killing 5/7ths of the males when it was done. It got a LOT quieter around here. Kind of a bummer; they make a cool sound in the spring, plus it's fun messing with them with a blade of grass between the thumbs... like turkeys... the males are ALL horned up in the spring.

Flavor is great- kind of like pheasant. So far these birds have been tough though! Like crock-pot tough.

Everything ok in Idaho?  Everything is fine, except I didn't draw for squat this fall!  I like to "change up" my sig line once in a while, and I do like belt-fed weapons. I need an MG42, Jeff, with about 100,000 rds of ammo to play with.
