thank God for defense and special teams, because Jefferson is just killing us. steve, don't forget the lack of discipline and penalties..... 10 for 120 yds.. INEXCUSABLE LSU's offense is worse than anemic .... Maybe Patrick Peterson can play QB

yeah, Blake...I mentioned the penalties in the separate thread I started just to bitch about Jefferson.
it is a damn shame that such a talented team is being so limited by having an inept moron for a QB. I don't see how they get out of the SEC without dropping two, more likely three, games.

Devine not playing the game certainly made a difference. Don't know full game stats yet but I'm certain WVU's "D" did just as well,if not better, than LSU. Have to check offense numbers, as well. Turnovers sure went in LSU's favor but I think they had over 120 yeards of penalities so maybe that's negated.
I sure wish Devine could have played.

bob, here's the game stats ... LSU v. WVU box scoreLSU held WVU to 58 yds on 27 attempts as Devine's injury did not help the Mtneer Offense . LSU rushed for 150 yds. LSU is loaded at WR and their inept QB can only throw for 80 yds  The Mtneers held their own as the LSU defense was to stout

both teams passing games sucked....less than 50% completions, averaging 3 yds for LSU and 4 for W.Va.
Jefferson's completion percentage goes up to 60% if you count the ones he threw to W. Va.
LSU averaged about 4 yds per carry, W. Va. 2 yds.
LSU had the ball about seven minutes longer.
The penalties on LSU were just ridiculous though....equal to half our total yards.

Devine played, he was W.Va.'s leading rusher with 37 yards on 14 carries.....which game were you watching? ============== I watched the game where Devine had a toe injury in the 1st qtr, was out most the 2nd and 3rd qtr and then had some carries when he came back in during the 4th quarter. That game. 14 carries is less than 4 carries a qtr. You might just be remembering his first carry for 10 yards when he returned in the 4th qtr. LSU's D still held him under his avg though, when he did carry. Two good defenses last night with LSU's a bit better. WVU's offensive line, like most years is what kills them. Plus, Stewart does the best he can to take the pressure off of Les' coaching inadequacies.
