378,
That pic is a reminder of the deer I used to see in parts of PA.
Now I don't know the time of year in your photo, but In late November it was not uncommon to see that many deer and NOT AN ANTLER IN THE CROWD!
That is an amazing photo you have there though.

We had an early cold snap, but now we are experiencing an "Indian" summer. Enviro Canada I cannot say with any certainty what the weather will be like in November. However, the deer population looks to be good and healthy.
"After consulting an RCMP forensics expert, the federal tribunal officially published its verdict online this week, decreeing that Megatron, leader of the Decepticons, is definitely not a replica firearm."

Can any of you tell me roughly when the rut occurs in Northern Alberta? I'll be hunting around Lac La Biche the week of Thanksgiving.

The last three weeks of November the rut is going strong. I was there one year in the second week of Nov and watched with binoculars a huge heavy racked buck following a doe about 800 yards from my stand, and it was about 55f degrees. Hunting the week of thanksgiving will give more consistently chilly weather, so the deer will feel naturally more active.
I have hunted about fifty miles south as well as north of Lac La Biche, you should see a lot of deer. I hope you can stay off the trigger for a few days unless you see a GOOD one. Good Luck!

Thanks for the info StrayDog. I've prepared myself mentally to leave empty handed if I don't see anything over 160.

I don't always venture out into the sub-freezing darkness, but when I do, it is deer hunting season, and I carry a Remington. Stay hungry my friends.

I live about 225 miles north of lac La Biche, and it looks like we are going to have a GREAT year for big racked white tails. Many of my friends work up here two weeks on , then head south for four days off, and I am getting very good reports on deer numbers when we meet up! :>) Cat

That is an amazing photo you have there though. All the horns are shedded that is why we see no horns. They grow back in spring time.
It is better to be judged by 12 than to be carried by 6.

Life's too short to hunt with an ugly gun.
