I ran some OCW tests today with an off the shelf Savage and here are some results.

Savage 11 with 3x9 Nikon Prostaff

CCI 400 Primer
Shot off bags

58F cloudy slight tail wind
100 yards

Bullet - 65gr Sierra Gameking
Powder - Varget
COL - 2.290

It likes 26.0gr

Powder - TAC

24.7 has potential

25.0 and 25.3 could tighten up with some seating depth or primer changes.

Not a bad start, the rifle shows promise. Savage rifles are fun.

I like that bullet in my 223AI. I've shot a few hundred of them in fireforming loads in front of BL-C2

Here's some targets at @450 yards.

Thanks for the info. This rifle is a buddies, but I am liking the bullets quite a bit. When I get my .223AI back together I will be working some loads up for it.

I really like the 65gr gamekings also. They are very accurate out of my T3 varmint in 223. I dont remember my exact load info but I think its 24gr of Benchmark.

Anyone have any on game experience with this bullet? I've been wanting to try it to see if it is more accurate than the 64 Powerpoint in my rifles.

25.3 of H-335 yields about 3000 fps and highly accurate out of my Remmy with a 12 twist...With LC brass an Remington 7 1/2 primers. Yes I know a 12 twist is slow, but it works...Groups 1/2" or better and worked great in the AR...When I developed the load 25.5 was the max, but I think it has been lowered to 25 now, but I never had an issue in my rifle, a 700VS..
