Just wondered if anyone had used this combo? As far as I know there is no published data for this combo. I have had excellent results with RL-22 in the .257 Roy but I am beginning to think the RL-22 is temp sensitive. There is published data for Retumbo in the 7mm Rem. mag down to the 140 bullet weights, got me to thinking it may be a good powder in the .257 Roy behind the 115 to 120 grainers?

.257 Roy = .257 Weatherby Magnum.

.257 Bob is a .257 Roberts.

Geesh...

.257 Roy...with all the confusion already associated with cartridge naming, they gotta be cute now?

If it has a name, call it by that name, if it doesn't, then call it whatever you want.

Some people are making cartridge names sound like something found on a Ken or Barbie doll box.

I can see it coming...

The 300 Arty
The 45 Sammy
The .30-40 Ole

Ricciardelli, Hey I kinda like some of those. They are pretty catchy. I might kinda modify it to a 45 Long Sammy.

Forgot to mention the 7mm Shamu, the .270/7mm/.300 Whizzum and the .25 Wussum - 7mm SAUM, the WSM's and the .25 WSSM. Might see some of these used at a poatal match some day.

Any tight knit group breeds its own jargon and "terms of endearment", this is just the jargon of 24hcf.

For instance, on accuratereloading, the standard reply to a cheerful "hello, how are you?" is "F--- you, a--hole!"

I've been using Retumbo w/ 100gr bootlits in my 257 Roy. It works very well indeed. Haven't tried anything heavier.

Thank you Cheaha for the info, will you send me a PM as to a charge weight so I can get in the ball park, mind I will reduce by 10%.

ricciardelli sorry for not standing on form and function, the .257 Weatherby is quite popular on this site and most that have one refer to it as the Roy. Again my apologies.

Yes I live in North Dakota, it is a great state. I was born and raised in Western South Dakota another great state and had a small ranch in NE Wyoming which is another great state. I considered a move to Montana several years ago, but it has been over run with yahoos from all parts, take Missoula for example. Which are you a yahoo or a native? Did you buy the cowboy hat when you moved there? Remember you started.
I don't smirk, just laugh.

Another funny is all the plagiarized "load data" he spouts off. Then he has the gall to ask for donations in his linked website........for what? Still laughing here......

Am thinking the nearly two year smoke, weren't long enough to air out the prior fumes.

Too funny.....................
