I have only been out 5 times, so far not overly impressed. Cover that should be holding birds, no go. Even woodcock numbers have been crap. With all the rain we had this summer I had expected a few more Timberdoodles...fun to work the dog on if ya don`t like to eat em.
Leaves mostly down, but the weather has been very warm, and dry. Should you come up, expect the dogs to pick up ticks...with this warm weather they`ve been bad.

gents,

marinette and florence county have been quite good so far with this year. Much better than last year. I hunt the UP and that part of wisconisn fopr most of october and from what I'm seeing grouse are up, resident woodcock are slightly up, and I saw the first flash of migrants this past sunday

Was in Marinette County over the weekend. Averaged about 20-25 flushes per day. Shooting wasn't that great, but did get a few. Birds are really skittish though. Lots of out of range flushes.

How are the leaves, anything dropped yet. Came up this time last year and all the leaves were still on. Expect to be heading that way, mid-late next week.
