Today is Oct 14, 2010. On this date in 1890 Dwight David "Ike" Eisenhower was born, he was the Commanding General of the ETO during World War II and he was also President of the United States. He would be 120 years of age. Charles E. "Chuck" Yeager, Maj. General USAF Retired, flew the Bell X-1 on a wild ride and broke the Sound barrier, 63 years ago. I would suggest that we should rent and watch "The Right Stuff" because they recreate the event of that day and how NASA got going under then President Eisenhower! Besides its a great movie.
