Posted a while back about my 1895CB. Had a little trouble but stuck with it and ended up in a gunsmiths shop in Montana. The only problem there was was a few rough edges from manufacture. I absolutely love my 1895CB in the 45-70. Now it cycle like a swiss watch......Just like the other 40 million of them out there the rest of you all have in your safes
I purchased the rifle for the mountains of montana and wanted a hard hitting lever gun. I own one now, and I love it. Now I can start being a pest in the forum where yall talk about sledge hammer loads

Eddie - Glad you got the kinks ironed out of your 95CB. Two "sledge hammer" loads for ya -

1) 54 gr IMR 4350 / Lyman 457193 (405 gr RNFP) cast 30:1 over .030 card wad / homemade SPG-type lube.
2) same as above but with 65 gr Goex CTG BP istead of the IMR.

Crimp just enough to keep the bullet in position when you load the tube (I don't crimp at all for my BPCR rifles).

I usually use the IMR load because the blow-back of the spent BP into the action can be a pain to clean. I didn't have to do a lot of load development as my 95 liked those two pretty much right away.
