I want to adjust the trigger on my model 7, but I cannot seem to figure out what tool to use. I have taken off the protective factory coating and have tried allen, slotted, and philps drivers in the small holes, but cannot get a grip on anything. What tool should be used?

They're small Allen heads.. That is, if it's the 'new' M7 triggers..
Old ones were standard slots, IIRC...

I do not know how old the gun is. I got it a couple of years ago from a box store; so it could be older thatn that. I know that it is not a allen. At the bottom of the head it looks like a phillips, but no driver that I have (and I have 000 size) will go into the head.

I ended up putting a Timney in my Model 7. It's the new 'Predator' with the x-mark pro trigger. This Timney is the one made for the 700(#510 I think), since they told me they don't make one for the 7.
It took some very minor stock material removal, front of the trigger opening and the safety lever area.
The next item is the bolt release is different. I took the bolt release linkage off the Timney & remove the bolt with a very small screwdriver. The screwdriver is used from the rear to push down on the bolt release with the bolt open.
I feel it's still a good trade off to get the much better trigger. Even my newer 'X-Mark Pro' wasn't all that great in the adjustment category.

OK, it is allen. But just barely. I think that the tolerances on the flats is poor, because it is almost round. I tried standard and metric, but both fit poorly. I think I might order some new screws, because these are close to being stripped.

Try a little heat on the screw head with a torch lighter then a little lube. Emphasis on "a Little Heat on the screw head"
