With a build soon to be compete, I am looking for some loads for the .22-250AI. With the 26" 8 twist I am looking to shoot 75gr A-maxes. What powders do you use and what velocities do you get? Thanks!

sorry it took so long to get back with the data that i have. The rifle i have has a 1 in 9 twist. I have been playing with rl-17 powder with 75-90gr bullets. So far i have used 36.5grs of rl-17 for these speeds: 80gr a-max 3188fps 80gr bergers 3158 fps 75gr a-max 3214 fps Hope this helps cuz its been hard getting enough of this powder to play with.Been loading a 300wsm.Good Shooting

I use H-414 with a 1in8 twist Krieger and the 75 grain A-Max. H-414 shoots very well. Almost every load weight of powder shot well for me. None stood out over the other. Try H-414. Tom.

Any more info on using H4350? I just got an 8lb bottle of the stuff and it would be great if that worked out! Looking like I'll have to try the H414 for sure though. I will also try to find a load pushing the 55 V-Max for close range work. Anyone?

Just lookin at loads on the heavier side for a 22-250AI as well, I will try some localy made 69gr and 80gr pills (New Zealand) and have RL17 to try as well as ADI AR 2208 and 2209 (Varget and H4350) Have been loading for 1:14 twist but now have a 1:8 to sort the loads, 55gr pills in the 1:14 worked a treat at 3800 fps but wind was an issue when the distance got up hense the 1:8 rifle build

Mine was a 26" 8" twist 5R rock bbl h4350 was too fast. Best for me was a 42grs of Re#22 and that was absolute max behind a 80gr berger VLD for a MV of 3300 fps.Work up to that load and my bullets were NOT jammed into the rifling .010 off the lands.

Was at the range this morning, me and my buddie shoot a .22-250AI and he is running 75gr. A-max with a 26" douglas barrel. Using 42.5gr of H4831sc (upper end of the load) I didnt take a pic of the groups but his is touching holes all day!! I fact I shot it and shot the best group I have ever shot in my life, could barly tell it was three shots!!!!!! I think he is running just under 3300fps... Mine use to shot a good 75 a-max load then I switched to moly and it went to hell??? My 50's (v-max) shoot really well with moly... 1:8 twist on both, both douglas barrels, both cut and plumbed by the same guy, mine has a ton of rounds through it, his has been fine tuned and cleaned religiously.... He is running lapua brass and CCI BR-2 primers and trys to shoot the same lot numbers....
