They look like a poorly designed paint stirer. I have shot them but I could never own one.

No scope cuts but had the scope on a 30-06 hit the bill of my hat that will jar your world.Clint

I'm embarrassed to confess that the only two eye brow splits I have suffered were from a 7x57 and a .270. Both shooting at game from prone position. I didn't even think about it either time, and got bit pretty bad both times. That was over 30 years ago, and I guess I've gotten smarter. Rifle fit, in both cases, was fine BTW, as was scope mount - the prone business is what got me. Prone is an easy way to get bit.. Guess I'm lucky.. In 50 years of centerfire operations I've never had a scope mark o'er the eyebrow yet.. Of course, I fully expect the very NEXT time will be the first - now that I've failed to 'knock on wood'..

But, hey, have you shot your .416 yet? Maybe you ought to give that new .358 STA a shot or two and see how your eyebrow does. Be sure to use a nice short eye relief Simmons, too!

I have two scope scars, both happened this year after I bought a CZ 550 in .500 Jeffery, and decided to scope it. I enjoy shooting it, but problems happen when I relax, I find myself concentrating on the target and good trigger control when I should be thinking about surviving the recoil of a 600 grain bullet leaving the barrel at 2400 fps.
You think I would have learned after the first scar.

I shoot my 500 Jeffery with a 1.5 - 5x Leupold and so far it hasn't "kissed" me yet. I do have a rubber eyeguard on it just in case. I got a scope cut from a 243 when I was 21 shooting prone and taking it for granted. My shooting partner, a retired Marine sniper laughed all day ... Just tell the pretty girls you used to be a Hell's Angel in your wilder days once the scar looks older ...  Chuck

I have a dandy scar over my left eye.(left handed) Leaned over a fence post to shoot a ground hog with a .460 wea. Must have crawled the stock a bit. Local doc gave me 12 of the prettiest, blue, stitches you ever saw. Headach lasted about three days! That was 30 years ago and havent got bit since!

I have been scope cut by a 264 WM, 6.5 WSM and a 300 RUM. All on shots on game, all from prone position. Got cut by a 375 H&H Encore standing, never again from an Encore!
My 416 Rem Mag hasn't bitten me yet with full power loads but it weighs 10 lbs scoped and I am sure to get a good grip with both hands and a good cheek weld to the stock. More like a big shove, not the least bit painful even in a t-shirt.

My first of 2 was with a 7mag Ruger shooting prone at a crow at our deer camp. It bled so bad I thought I was gonna have to get blood. All those other azzholes said they could find was a Fred Flintstone bandaid. Not a pretty sight. Was lucky on the second one as it hit right on top of the first scar. Says something for consistancy..
