I've owned the Double-D knife for 8 or 9 year's and it is by far the finest hunting knife I have ever used. It hold's a edge like nothing I've ever used. I've only sent it in once for sharpening and have dressed maybe 20 big game critter's since then and it is still sharp (I alway's use it to cut up the rib cage and the pelvic bone on deer). You can't go wrong with one and it's for a good cause. I'll take another one for my son. PM on the way.

Thanks for the endorsements, guys.
I managed to shoot a big WT buck this weekend, and I used a drop-point straight edge Cutco hunting knife to dress it out. That knife is easily as sharp as my Fallkniven F1 ever was, and the steel isn't so hard that it chips and breaks. Last year I went through the cartilage belt on the rib cage of a few deer, and the VG10 steel is so hard on that F1 that it literally took a couple of small chips out of the edge. The Cutco cut just as well, and I really put it to the test on this rib cage. I was using two hands to get enough leverage to cut through, levering it back and forth, and after I inspected the knife, the edge was still in mint condition. I was impressed, for sure. My F1 never could have taken that kind of treatment without having a chip or two to show for it. I'll be using a Double-D edged demo knife for the next deer or two. I'll let you know how it goes.
Cutco knives may not be the most inexpensive, but they sure work, and I've never seen another knife company with a warranty that even compares.

Hey guys, One week left for Cutco knife purchases or donations, and just an update. I've used the Double-D edged knife on 4 deer so far this season, I thought I'd give a little feedback. In the past, I've used the Fallkniven F1, several different models of Buck knives (110, 119, and others), Gerbers, and others, and this Cutco w/DD edge seems to out perform all of them as far as ease of cutting through the rib cage, ease of field dressing, and retaining its sharpness. It definitely holds an edge better than the Fallkniven. The blade is only about half as thick on the Cutco in comparison to the F1 (take that for what you will), and the steel seems to be softer, so the edge is much less brittle. The F1 sustained a couple of tiny chips in the edge when cutting through the rib cage on a couple of medium-sized deer, but the Cutco edge is un-phased after cutting through 4 rib cages, including that of the big buck I shot this year. I've counted my pennies and ordered an Orange handled drop point with Double-D edge for myself for Christmas. The Cutco will now be my primary and the Fallkniven will be relegated to backup duty. Thanks, Santa.
