Try a release agent . Might work better than an "agant".

I have all my rifles barrels glued shut.

I'm an expert though. grin

I got my first this year this past Wednesday with a crossbow at 25/30 yards. Me personally, if I over-think it all in those few seconds before pulling the trigger I'm bound to do something stupid. A quick range estimation, a slow scope/sights to eye, one or two slow breaths and a slow pull on the trigger. That's the best service I can do any game in hopes of making the kill clean and quick. A personal experience taught to me in the Marine Corps- my first qualification in boot camp with the M-16, I cranked, twisted and turned and barely qualified. My last qualification ( which was only months before I got out) I never went two clicks beyond up, down, left or right. I shot second highest in the battalion that day. No pressure and the KISS principle did me justice. Nothing wrong with keeping it simple. My advice- stay relaxed as best you can; a pounding heart is your greatest shot placement enemy.

If I over-think anything, I'm doomed. wink

The problem with the deer is, many don't post here....only a few actually read the optics threads,so some don't realize they are supposed to be shot past 500 yards.....

Sounds like you only need a 357 Marlin open sights or a shotgun where you hunt, but what fun would THAT be? Lol.

Congrats, at least you were prepared! Like to hear about your rifle, custom or factory?

It is the reason why I don't use a straight 6 power scope.

There is no accounting for taste.

Experience is a great thing as long as one survives it.

Generally, there ain't a lot that separates the two however,
Barely making it is a whole lot more satisfying than barely not making it.
