I can't argue with Steelhead's suggestion as I also run the Minox HG 8.5x43s. They are very, very good and are within your budget.

I honestly can't see myself needing better glass. The HGs were retailing for $800 - $900 a year ago before Minox moved their assembly from Japan back to Germany.

Truely a bargain for the money.
