Finally after waiting a little over a year to put some optics on her I scrounged up some money and headed over to the awesome fellas at euro optics based in Pennsylvania. I got the one piece Nightforce direct mount for the R700 LA w/ integrated 20 MOA cant, a bubble level, angle degree indicator, and a Night Force NXS 12-42 w/ CH-2 reticule.
It's been accurized by Kevin Cram of MC rifles with a full action bed, target recessed recrown, lapped scope rings and locking lugs. She shoots like a dream come true. Prior toward getting the rifle I knew I wanted to shoot 208 grain a-max's. I asked around on the forums repeatedly and people have been always telling me they could never get under an inch with the Sendero SF II, although it would consistently keep 1 MOA out to 1000 yards. This is the 3rd load I've tried and all the others shot with the same precision, but didn't have the velocity I wanted. Here was the load I developed out of my rifle.
Case: Remington
Case trim to length: 2.835"
Propellant: Hodgdon Retumbo
Charge weight: 92 grains
Primer: Federal 215 large rifle magnum
COAL: 3.800"
Projectile: .308 caliber 208 grain A-MAX
Then here is the 4 shot group that I am consistently achieving.
Will be shooting past 1000 yards when I upgrade the old bushnell legend rangefinder to a Leica CRF-1600
